EIKON
EIKON (εἰκών): IMAGE
The foundation of our existence is Jesus, the perfect image/eikon of the invisible God. Jesus is also the perfect image/eikon of what it means to be human and to be in perfect relationship with the Father. In turn, we as the church are called to fulfill our identity as those made in the image/eikon of God. However, due to sin, we are broken eikons. But because of Jesus, the perfect eikon and human, this identity can and is being redeemed. The fulfillment of this identity is the outworking of God’s salvation into all areas of creation.
VISION
To fulfill the REDEMPTIVE work of Jesus, the perfect EIKON,
from the heart of the CITY to the ends of the EARTH.
He is the image (eikon) of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation…
… And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body.
… Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.
Colossians 1:15-23
